D'Mines Snake & Ladder Educational Game

The usage of various suitable learning mediums in teaching and learning data mining able to enhances cognitive development of the students. In this learning activity, edutainment game is proposed to teach Fundamental Data Mining subject as an informal learning interaction to engage with students.  The aim of this study is to examine the effectiveness of snake and ladder game as a learning in learning Data Mining.  The development of D’Mines EduGame imitates Snakes and Ladders board game with set of questions related to data mining methodology, techniques and model evaluation used to challenge the students understanding. The game is tested with the second year degree in Statistics students. The result shows that the snakes and ladders game based is an effective learning tool to improve students learning in data mining. It also able to increases student’s interest level of interest and understanding of Data Mining concepts and techniques has increased using the proposed edutainment approach.
